The Freedom - Nelson Mandela Nelson Mandela was the South African activist and former president from 1994 to 1999. He was born on July 18, 1918, in Mvezo, Transkei, South Africa. He studied law at the University of Fort Hare and the University of the Witwatersrand before he working as the lawyer. He was helping the South Africa for anti-apartheid revolution and had to be a global advocate for human rights. He is the leader of peaceful protests and armed resistance to against the white minority oppressive political power a racial divided South Africa. Therefore, he was sentenced to prison at Robben Island for 27 years for his anti-activities to the government. After he got released from prison, he became the first black president of South Africa in 1994. He won Nobel Prize for Peace in 1993 for his efforts not just for the South Africa but also for the human rights. He died on Dec. 2013 due to the lung illness. …show more content…
He spoke out against apartheid which is forced while and non-while people to live in the separate area neither to share the table in the restaurant nor sit together on the bus. He and his fellows start the peaceful protest and perhaps to get rid of apartheid without fighting; however, it was very dangerous to speak out for that especially for the “Black”.
