Many people may wonder or question if human rights can be actualized for every person. Today I will be arguing both sides of this question. I will be using evidence from the book Night by Elie Wiesel and his speech Perils of Indifference. Just to sum up Elie’s life, he was a Jew when the Nazis started to put them into concentration camps and either move or kill them. They were worked until they could not work anymore. This when on for many years until he was saved. Here are some reasons why people might say it is not possible for human rights to be actualized for every person.
One reason why it is not possible for human rights to be actualized for every person is because, no one has the right to hold you in slavery and the Nazis held Jews into concentration camps. According to Elie Wiesel in his book Night, he stated that, “The barbed wire that encircled us like a wall did not fill us with real fear.” (11) Therefore, the right to hold you in slavery was broke and in this case, the Nazis Broke and imprisoned the Jews in barbed wire that encircled them which by law, is illegal. …show more content…

She was smiling her mournful smile as she slipped me a crust of bread.” (53) Since the French girl helped Elie when he was young, this shows that it is possible for human rights to be actualized for every person. However, France would have never been invaded without oil obtained from America. According to The Perils of Indifference by Elie Wiesel, he stated that, “It has been suggested, and it was documented, that the Wehrmacht could have not conducted its invasion of France without oil obtained from American sources.” (90) Finally, if America didn’t give Wehrmacht oil, they could have not conducted its invasion on France.
