The Battle of bunker hill was fought June 17, 1775. The battle really didn't occur at bunker hill a reporter reported it wrong it really occurred at breed's hill. The battle started when british sent troops to Boston. Americans set up a militia with over 1000 soldiers to fight the british at bunker hill. What's very significant about this battle is that it was the start of the revolutionary war. The war didn't last very long only 1 day but there was many people killed The leader of the american militia group colonel William Prescott Who was very experienced in fighting He had fought in the french and indian war before the battle of bunker hill. Another fact of this battle is it was one of the bloodiest battles of the revolution. The British one this particular battle. The British soldiers that were killed at The Battle of Bunker Hill are buried inside Old North Church. Another fact is one of the patriots was a former slave. There were about 2,200 soldiers fighting in this war out of those the British only lost Smail 2 about 268 of their men and the Militia group lost about 151 soldiers but there was over 828 soldiers on both sides that were injured during The Battle of Bunker Hill. The War ended with the British defeating the Americans in one of bloodiest wars of the revolution. The war ended at the same Place it began which was on Breed's Hill. The battle of bunker started the revolutionary war because the Americans were wanting to fight for their freedom from the British so they were willing to fight for it and go through many wars just to gain it. The British soldiers outnumbered The American soldiers by a lot. The british had a ton of ammunition to fight. The americans had little ammunitions so that's how they new their chances of winning was very slim because the british had more supplies than they did. The Before the battle started The americans were warned that they were coming so they started preparing weeks in advance. They started target practicing weeks in advance so they could be accurate when the war started. The americans formed their army in couple weeks.They tried to get a lot of people to join.
