Water boils when the surrounding temperature is approximately 212 Fahrenheit. Water placed on a stove becomes warm. When it gets hot, it even boils. Boiling water burns people, too. The only good thing it does is make pasta. But if you are to put water in the right environment where the water molecules are cold enough to condense, it will become ice. Ice can make any drink better. It refrigerates and keeps food fresh for longer. The only problem is that ice melts much faster than it freezes. We didn’t have these role models early on. After getting a girl pregnant at 12 years old, he continued to pursue another girl, and he still believed “This chick was a jump off, a sexual time filler, and he felt she had forfeited her right to be treated like a lady a long time ago,”(Moore 103). Unlike author Wes, the other Wes had no parent or mentor who would willingly teach him life lessons. His only real mentor, his brother Tony, told him, “If someone disrespects you, you send a message so fierce that they won’t have the chance to do it again,” (Moore 33). Telling his impressionable little brother this is just as bad as telling Wes to fight someone if they mess with him. As you can see, the people within your life can change how you think about situations dramatically. Later in the story, Wes was arrested for another boy ‘disrespecting’ him. Wes did what Tony said, sending a fierce message back. All things considered, both author Wes Moore and the other Wes Moore exhibited change when there were changes in the community, and the people around them.
