To be President of the United States, you need to be a person that has great traits and emotions. The same routine goes for a human soul to fight in a war. Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. was just that. He was both President of the U.S, and a Lieutenant Colonel in a battle for Cuba's independence against Spain. This man had a childhood under the wing of a billionaire, Theodore Roosevelt, Sr. while being a frail and sickly child. Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858. As a child, he was also timid and nervous. In fact, he had to be tutored at home by his Aunt, Annie Bulloch. He lived in a house with two sisters and a brother. His father made his fortune by being a banker and importer of glass. In his young days, he felt a deep administration for men who were fearless, and Theodore had a great desire to be like them. He fulfilled that dream. Roosevelt was also a smart young man when he entered Harvard College. Theodore graduated there with a great honor. Later in life, Roosevelt made a statement around the U.S, that he was a hero.

His main reason, is that he made a call in a fight for Cuba's separation from Spain. He was a Lieutenant Colonel for a volunteer army called the Rough Riders. In the battle, he saw U.S troops attacking Spanish soldiers on San Juan Hill. The Colonel had only about five Rough Riders with him, but Theodore still called the charge up the Hill. The other large way he is a Patriot, was that he was the 26th president of the United States. During his presidency, Theodore made the Department of Commerce and Labor, also he reserved 150,000,000 acres of land for national use. This man was definitely a man like no
