The Titanic the unsinkable ship. The Titanic was carrying more than 2,200 passengers and crew members on its journey to New York. On April 14, 1912, the Titanic sank. It hit a iceberg 375 miles south of Newfound. More than seven hundred people were saved but between 1,500 and 1,635 are believed to have died in the icy waters. The tragedy of the titanic led to change, making water travel safe. There has to be enough life boats and life jackets for every passenger on board, and passengers must practice putting everybody on a boat just in case an accident happens. We now have planes watching the sky so no boat will hit an iceberg again. They tell them ahead of time, so, that they have time to do the safe/right thing to do for themselves and the passengers. …show more content…

The Titanic was the largest and the most luxurious ocean liner of its time. The White Star Line (the industry that made the titanic) was publicly emphasized for having safety as its top priority however, speed and luxury were more attractive marketing features to travel. Thus,some of Titanic’s features compromised safety. The ship had been proclaimed unsinkable because of its 16 water tight compartments. The Titanic was the fastest ship at the time. It will always be remembered as the first so called unsinkable ship. The Titanic was built by the shipbuilders,Harland and Wolff, in Belfast Ireland. It was built for a shipping company called White Star Line at a reported cost of seven point five million dollars, At the time the Titanic was the largest moving object ever
