Women in the 1930’s had a very strict way to act to be respectable. They could do almost nothing that a man could do. Today women have no strict rules of how to act. Women today completely disregard the rules of the 1930’s. Women can do anything men can do now. Women’s behavior in the 1930’s differ from women’s behavior today in going to the movies, getting jobs, and playing sports. Women in the 1930’s would be considered disgraces if they went to the movies while today women can go whenever they wish. Good families would not allow the women of the house to go to movies on sunday. A respectable lady would not think of going to the movies, while today movie theaters will almost always have a girl in a movie room. Going to the movies is a great way for friends, women included, to get together and have fun. Many people will have dates watching movies in the movie theater. Women in 1930’s would always wear dresses and could not wear pants, so they could hardly do anything outside. No sport could be played with a dress, and no women would play a sport. Women playing a sport would be considered blasphemous. But today there are many sport leagues that consist entirely of women. The NCAA has an entire division for women. There are many soccer leagues in the world that consist of women. Almost nobody thinks bad about these women for playing sports.
Women’s behavior in the 1930’s utterly contradict the behavior of girls today. In 1930’s a woman's life was very a very exclusive one in the way they could act. They could not do anything fun and there was few jobs that they could do that were important. But women today can do anything they want.
