With knowledge, we are able to make amazing things like cars, cell phones, and shuttles that launch satellites into space. What would you do if you lived in a culture that doesn't allow you to think or read, but only to be like everyone else? The book Fahrenheit 451 is about a man that burns books to prevent people from learning. Along the way he meets a girl that told him of a past where you think, read, when it was encouraged, and not discouraged. Guy Montag now has to find his purpose. In the article, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, it states “A book is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it.” In the society like this, books are a crime, and to read is a crime equal to murder. Over the years, education has evolved to make our society smarter, and more capably than our predecessors, whom, in highschool were barely learning what we’ve already learned in the sixth grade. Because of the devices, children in our society are just getting into trouble and becoming unaware and ignorant. However, in Fahrenheit 451, if you are walking on the sidewalk, a car traveling at 200 mph was just waiting to flatten you. In the book, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, it states “The beetle was rushing. The beetle was roaring. The beetle raised its speed. The beetle was whining. The beetle was in high thunder.
