Never shall I forget that first night in the camp, which has turned my life into one long night ,… Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of the smoke beneath a silent blue sky”( Elie Wiesel ) “Night” by Elie Wiesel, publish in 1956. A boy that taken away from his home and moved in the ghetto, from there he and his father had to see what going to happen next to them and see all the horrible things. Thought out “Night” there are three horrible, major scenes. Shooting of the babies, Idek raping a girl, and Elie fathers get dysentery. These moments in the story are important for they show what people had to go through to survive concentration camps in Nazi Germany. One horrible scene was when Elie hears from Moshe the Beadle that Nazis were shooting babies for target practice in the forest. This is a horrible scene for all the cruelty that the mothers had to hear how their babies died and what there were use for the Nazis. “Without passion, without haste, they slaughter their prisoners”.(5) This shows how extremely violent the war was, the Germans had no mercy. I thought his was a very horrible scene not just for me, but for Elie as well. You walk into a room and you see the worst thing that could happen to a women, at a very young age. Elie must been traumatizing to see that happening in person. “You wait and see kid… You’ll soon find out what leaving your work going to cost you… You’re going to pay for this pretty soon”.(42) It shows whatever you do or see in the camp you’ll get punish or get killed. This is important for one wrong thing you’ll get a very horrible punishment that probably will give you scars for live.
