Tanner peters 3/3/23 Period 1 mr. parsloe Literary essay Restart In the story, Restart by Gordon Korman The alpha male beast at Hiawassee Middle School goes by the name of Chase Ambrose. He's callous, mean, self-centered and his reputation precedes him as he walks down the halls. No one leaning over a water fountain is safe from a possible stitch or two from the local doctor. His pranks are legendary and they have crossed the line into having a day in court before the judge. Chase is a outlaw, Chase doesn't remember falling off the roof. He doesn't remember hitting his head. He doesn't, in fact, remember anything. He wakes up in a hospital room and suddenly has to learn his whole life all over again . . . starting with his own name. Chase was a bad person with his friends Bear and Aaron. And also, they were his football friends. In the Story, Chase was a very good football player and he was the best in the nation so that inspired fear into other people. But he also was a bully, so you know why he was scary, but so scary that he went to community service. But this came with some positives like Mr Sowey. Mr Solwey was a retired Vietnam warrior. He was very inspired in him, so he asked him if he had a medal of honor. He asked him if he could see it, but when he looked in his closet, it was not in there. This sparked a memory in him because in the beginning of the book he was on the roof looking ofr Mr Solwey medal of honor because Bear and Aaron took it from him, and when he was on the roof, that is how he fell off the roof. As the book goes on he starts to grow out off his old ways and starts to hate his old self and Chase hasn't officially forgave himself by the end, but a lot of people eventually forgave him.
