There two ways of doing ethics in the Bible study fellowship: relationist and retooler. A fellowship is a community. One of purposes of the church fellowship is to provide a home for the Chinese students to grow physically and spiritually, no matter they are Christians or not. There are numerous relationships in a fellowship. The more overlap relationships in the fellowship, the closer relationship people have in this community. The relationist leaders “create the community with their liability and their hope.” The counselors and co-workers in our Bible study fellowship do care about the growth of our community. What creates our fellowship? As Bible study is the main activity of our Friday nights’ schedule. The Words of God and the love of God connect us together. Bible study helps students to know the expectations of God. They learn love and respect. On the other hand, the good fellowship helps the students to know the teaching in the Bible better. Retooler is an important way of doing ethics in our Bible study fellowship. Unlike other church in which there are fixed members, the students in our fellowship come and go all the time. If we do not work hard to invite new students to come to the fellowship, the Friday night’s Bible study groups will disappear in two years. Strategies to invite the new people and keep the newcomers are important. Retooler aims to have the best outcomes. By remembering the past, retelling the story now, and revising the future, a retooler has the big picture of what happen in the fellowship.
