After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 the United States launched a war against terror. With its allies, the United States ambition to bring to justice all terrorists and whoever was involve in terrorism. President George W. Bush emphasized that by attacking terrorism, the United States would bring freedom to the people of Afghanistan and all other countries that lived under the oppression of the regimes like those in Iraq and Iran(McCartney 408). During the first term of the George W. Bush administration, they wanted to make sure to bring democracy to the Middle East countries of Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran. President George W. Bush stated that the attack of September 11, could not be solved by mere diplomacy, the use of force was necessary. The Afghanistan initiated on October 7, 2002, with the help of, Great Britain, France, Germany, and Japan. Four months later the United States forces overthrew the Taliban regime and eradicated the al-Qaeda terrorist group in Afghanistan.
