In Sojourner Truth's speech at the Akron, Ohio Women's Convention in 1851, she argued that women have the same characteristics as men and they can achieve to do greater things in life. Women have a lot of talent but people do not notice it. Truth wants to present what women can do in her speech with different persuasive techniques.
Starting off with sentence number 1, In Sojourner Truth's, "Ain't I a Woman," she states, "Well, children, where there is so much racket there must be something out of kilter." In Sojourner Truth's, "Ain't I a Woman," Truth repeated, "Ain't I a Woman!" This strategy is repetition and a rhetorical question. This text may be short but puts a live look to what Truth argues for. She repeats this again throughout her speech in sentences 10,12,and 14. This repetition makes her audience figure out what's the problem and is frequently boggling the audience's minds. This text is also a rhetorical question because it places ideas and solutions into people's imagination but no one fully answers the question. Sojourner Truth asserted in her speech, "I have borne thirteen children, and seen them most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother's grief, none but Jesus heard me!" In this text Truth states a short story of her past and her experiences. This text was very inspiring to the audience and myself. She brings an anecdote for people to notice that she has gone through many troubling and sad background through her life. This starts emotion to go across the crowd which causes attention to follow what Truth is arguing.

The fourth strategy Truth uses is reason and logic. In Sojourner Truth's speech she blurted, "Where did your Christ come from? From God and a Woman! Man had nothing to do with Him!" When Truth pronounces this explanation it was very opening to her audience. I, in my opinion, was very shocked and realized that is true and logical.
