On March 18 2008, Presidential candidate Barack Obama delivered a speech towards and against his Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s and these comments and thoughts made by him are what triggered this speech because Barack Obama needed to deliver this message as soon as possible with the election coming up. The subject was based upon racial issues in America, it was being spoken towards undecided voters at the moment. What candidate Barack Obama was trying to deliver was that he does not agree with the statement made by his Reverend but understands the cause of it.

Barack Obama states the analogy and comparison of everything being said from Reverend Wright, analogy made the comparison when he used it by describing what happened along with what was being spoke upon. He compares that America will never be perfect yet we try to make it faultless and fix what we can while we can. This speech was targeted because Obama had to address the racial comments before the Election Day that was coming up in November. Barack Obama was not going to let this statement from his Reverend run along without taking no action towards the comments made. Many rhetorical devices were discovered throughout this speech Obama made, especially being able to write a rhetorical essay about many devices he used because you would never think or concentrate as hard as you would to seek the type of language he uses during the lecture. It is a unique technique to point out all the devices he said, to be able to focus on this specific speech and actually listen and wrap your head around everything Barack Obama said is an educational process.
