The strategies of the World War II have been the key to complete missions. In the eyes of many people, the airplanes were one of the essential equipment of the battles in World War II. Also, it was a secret service under the water line of the ocean working like a shadow with targets like Japan supply and combat ships, which were submarines. Submarines were used first to block ships suspecting to have prohibited cargo throughout the British line by the Germans. In addition, they announce to the people aboard to abandon the ship and the submarine sunk the cargo ships.
The language is with a lot repeats. By repeating” YOU” it makes the audience feel important, and it makes them feel, that George is one of them, and makes them remember the message in the speech. He makes them feel, that he knows, what kind of situation there are in. To get the message of the speech out so wide as possible he uses repetition. He keeps repeating the important messages.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the 32nd president of the United States and attended Columbia Law School as well as Harvard University. During his presidency, the United States was blindsided by a malicious attack from Japanese forces at Pearl Harbor. In his address to the Nation speech that followed, he effectively convinces the American people and Congress that war on Japan is the best option by using strong word choice and a sense of nationalism to draw emotion from his audience. These appeals to pathos, along with integrating a clear call-to-action for the American people, creates an effective argument for his speech.
To begin with, Roosevelt points out ethos in order to cite his official position and authority to build his credibility. The president claim,“As commander-in-chief of the Army and Navy “(Roosevelt 13). This shows that he is above all and he directs that all measures be taken for their defence. Franklin D. Roosevelt also notes,”I believe that I interpret the will of congress and of the people”(Roosevelt 15). Here, Roosevelt builds his credibility when he shows his respect for and knowledge of congress for the american people.
“To infinity and beyond” wasn’t always so joyful. On January 28, 1986, seven astronauts died from the space shuttle Challenger explosion. Ronald Reagan was given the daunting task of addressing the accident to the nation and bringing comfort to them. He made a decision to postpone his state of the union speech so he could help the nation cope with this tragedy. His speech had to acknowledge every group of people from the school children watching on tv, to the families of the victim, and NASA too.
Tragedies, they will happen without a hint of awareness but they cannot be stopped or answered for. When they do occur it leads people to shock and grief. However tragedies brings forth something that gives people unity, hope, and direction. This something is called a leader and throughout history many people have embodied this quality. There are many instances where people have stood up an embodied this quality.
He, without a doubt, used ethos, “As commander in Chief of the Army and Navy…” and me, “an undergraduate at CSUMB” just proved that. His demeanor was his pathos. Roosevelt did not have to say he was serious to be serious; he was serious and that emotion spread across all audiences. In under ten minutes, Roosevelt persuaded the nation and congress to declare war with Japan.
Rhetorical devices is used significantly through both text, Pearl Harbor Address to the Nation, and A Fable for Tomorrow. Both text use ethos, pathos, and logos, but in different forms, and techniques. Which affects the effectiveness of the tone, and feeling of each text. Pearl Harbor Address to the Nation, uses more ethos, facts and credibility. A Fable for Tomorrow, uses more pathos, appeals to emotion.

Eisenhower’s purpose is to convey to the country that he will fight to preserve the decision that the Supreme Court came to on racial segregation. He adopts a personal tone in order to convey to the people of Arkansas that he understands how they feel in this situation. After establishing that he will do whatever is necessary to protect the rights of the students and connects with the Arkansas people by addressing the fact that his decision wasn’t based on his personal beliefs, Eisenhower shifts his focus to validating the citizen’s feelings of anger and feeling slighted. Eisenhower through logically crafted arguments asserts that he will use his powers to ensure the students’ rights aren’t withheld.

Kennedy, known for his diligence and persuasion, held a news conference about the hikes in steel prices. President John F. Kennedy, in his speech, uses rhetorical strategies such as diction, emotional appeals, and a persuasive tone to convince Americans that steel companies are declining the standards to maintain stable prices. Kennedy states that the steel companies are a national problem due to the increase of steel prices.
Former President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, in his address to the nation about the Challenger explosion, distinguishes the terrifying news of the explosion of the space shuttle. Reagan's purpose is to remember the lives lost in this painful accident and to ensure that space program will keep our faith with its future in space. He adopts a sorrowful tone in order to acknowledge all the courage and breakers that those seven astronauts expressed to his nation. Reagan opens his tribute to the Challenger astronauts by recognizing that this accident delayed his State of the Union address and by showing the pain of him and his wife’s grief. He appeal to the emotions of the listeners by expressing that “today is a day for mourning and remembering” (Reagan, 1986), that he and his wife are “pained to the core” (Reagan, 1986), and that we all know that this accident is “truly a national loss” (Reagan, 1986).
