Football has taken U.S. Universities in hostage Steven Salzberg is a Bloomberg distinguished professor of Biomedical Engineering, computer Science, and Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University. Salzberg has also been a vocal advocate in favor of the teaching of evolution in schools and has authored editorials and appeared in print media on this topic. He writes a widely read column at Forbes magazine on Science, medicine, and pseudoscience. “Get Football out of Our Universities” is an article by him about the “evolution of teaching” in United States universities. American colleges spend huge budgets on their football teams and this holds a disproportionate place in the lives of its students.
