When I read my previous papers, my first thoughts are always wondering how I improved. Ow that I’ve completed English 1302.710, I expected a change in my writing skills. After all, I did write a lot, especially in a type of writing that I wasn’t comfortable: Rhetoric. For the class, I had to learn to persuade my audience, do research, develop personal values, and use different kinds of expression in my writing. Even though I was just learning, I have met the objective of the course and what it teaches.

The paragraphs were short and frequent but it was organized well with examples of the rhetorical appeals being used and quotes from his works. In three to four pages, I had to discuss about media’s representation of one gender and how it could affect younger audiences. To prove our claim, we had to choose one type of stereo type in three types of media. I choose female character’s looks in videogames, comic books, and animation. I explained that “[Children] look up to the media’s stories for knowledge and entertainment” and how “creators often seem to worry that their [character’s] appearance isn’t feminine enough”. With my options and examples that I used from left to right, I was able to write a rhetorical paper in three pages.
