Hillary Clinton’s “Women’s Rights are Human Rights” speech (september 5th 1995) Hillary stepped up at the podium in Beijing China to discuss the ongoing argument of women rights. Here she is “focusing world attention on issues that matter most in the lives of women and their families: access to education, health care, jobs and credit, the chance to enjoy basic legal and human rights and participate fully in the political life of their countries.” Hillary’s ultimate goal was to persuade the public and make them realize how women are just as important as men in our society in order to grow and become a stronger nation. In her speech she uses pathos, ethos, and logos to help persuade her audience. She is known as one of the greatest women of our time, she was intelligent, passionate, and hardworking. In the beginning, she lists contributions to the world that women make. The list included things from being leaders, working at home, having jobs, and being mothers. This list of responsibilities that women uphold is used in the very beginning which immediately grabs the readers attention and shows them the real power women have and what they are capable of doing. Clinton uses blunt statements such as "It is time for us to say here in Beijing, and the world to hear, that it is no longer acceptable to discuss women's rights as separate from human rights,” This is sentence express exactly how women are equal and its silly that we are still living like they are not.
