Rhetorical Strategies In The Story Of An Hour By George Orwell

Another rhetorical strategy that is effective is the point of view that George Orwell has the story in. The story is told looking back on the event. This is powerful to me because it means that the person (author) has had a chance to look back on what happened, and analyze what could have been better. For some people they write about an event best right after it happened, and Orwell gave it enough time to gather all the details surrounding the event to adequately and fully cover the story. This point of view is not often used in stories that I read and so it was nice to mix things up. At points it feels like it is in present tense, and I like the relationship between that and the past tense part of it. Such as “When I pulled the trigger I
