My experiences in Rho Psi Eta, a pre-health sorority, allowed me to learn about various cultures through collaboration with a diverse group of students. Rho Psi Eta consists of students from different backgrounds and across the country, of which many are first-generation students studying medicine. With our common goal to become healthcare providers, I have learned about my colleagues’ upbringings and barriers to pursue higher education. One of my colleagues shared her story about the financial barriers she faced in order to apply to college. On the other hand, I learned about her family’s traditions and the history of Latin music. Through numerous conversations, I fostered relationships with my colleagues based upon many commonalities including
