CUT TO:
EXT. FOREST - DAY
Rhonda stands up and looks around at the trees, a look of confusion on her face. She stumbles around in the clearing, her eyes darting all around between the branches, the sky, the trunks, and the foliage.
RHONDA
This can’t be Featherstone’s woods...
Rhonda climbs over a log and looks every which way around the clearing to try and get her bearings. She takes out her phone, but groans. She tries to hold her phone up to get signal. Then, unable to get signal, she climbs up the side of a tree and clings to a branch while trying to hold her phone up higher. She groans with frustration and shakes her fist. This motion sets her off-balance and she falls out of the tree. She pushes herself to her feet and sighs, putting

Not yet. You haven’t been here long enough.
RHONDA
But how do I get back?
EDITHA
You can’t. Not till old Febbleston fixes the portal, see? It’s broken again.
RHONDA
No! I can’t stay here... wherever here is.
EDITHA
Fenwick Valley to you humans, right? That’s plainfolk’s terms!
RHONDA
Never heard of it.
EDITHA
Course not! You only see what you want to see. You hear what you want.
RHONDA
I don’t have time for this. I’ve got to get back. You have to help me.
EDITHA
Nope! No way or no how. I can’t.
Rhonda groans and rolls her eyes. She crosses her arms and starts to lean against a tree but thinks better of it.
RHONDA
Why not?
EDITHA
Well, you’re not s’posed to be here for one.
RHONDA
I’m only here cause I was following you.
Editha suddenly looks up and all around the clearing. She has a deer-in-the-headlights look of apprehension on her face.
EDITHA
Not so loud. You’re not sposed to be here, remember?
RHONDA
Well, I’m here now. So are you gonna help me or not?
Editha pushes herself off of the tree branch, but rather than falling, she floats to the ground and hangs an inch or so above it, hovering.
EDITHA
No! Cummins and Febbleston’re already mad enough without seeing you.
Editha starts to run deeper into the forest.

EDITHA
Oh, you’ll never make it here going on about work.
Editha laughs and runs/drifts into the trees.
RHONDA
Wait! You get back here!
Editha can be heard laughing through the trees.
RHONDA (CONT’D)
Oh, dammit! Not again!
Rhonda runs through a short section of trees and then spots Editha crawling into a stump below a huge tree. There is a beautiful glow around it, and Rhonda is awe-struck for a moment before she shakes her head and continues her pursuit. She stops short of crawling into the stump and studies it. From her point of view it is a little daunting, the entrance to the rabbit hole as it were.
RHONDA (CONT’D)
Editha! You get back here!
Editha can no longer be heard. She’s gone.
RHONDA (CONT’D)
Oh fine! If that’s the way you want to play it.
Rhonda takes a deep breath and crawls into the stump to continue the pursuit.
EXT. FAIRY CITY - DAY
But on the other side, she appears to be on the outskirts of a small city. Earthy buildings are everywhere, and all inside this tree, the city is laid out almost like a metropolis, except made out of wood and leaves and flowers. At last, Rhonda steps forward slowly, audibly gasping, as if the sight of this city took her breath away.
