Richard Nixon I think that Richard Nixon abused his power as a president. First he abused his power in the role of Commander in Chief and Head of State . One example of this is when Richard Nixon had done the Watergate Scandal taken place under his order, but might have also been guilty of tax fraud and cheating the IRS out of $500,000. Not only did Nixon do that but used $17 million dollars of the public funds for his own resort homes or vacation areas. His biggest failure was failing to be the proper president to care for his country and his people, instead he focused morally on himself. The “Law and Order” Administration, had given America the most lawless Government in its history. The criminal activity was not limited which made the white house became the capital of crime. Nixon may had been well-versed in walking a straight line but, there was one particular issue, he wanted to plan and implement school desegregation. Which meant that he split the whites away from the blacks by having there own all school black and that meant he sent 18% black children. One example of this is as a president, he also decided to increase the number of female appointments which had lead to Force Women’s Rights. Example of his was a threat to the labor movement by tricking them in saying “hey our plan guarantees an annual income”. In 1970, he pushed for the Clean Air Act by establishing two new agencies. The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection were proposed to meet the cost-benefit standards and was meet with the Budget. In 1972, he proposed the Clean Water Act and it was overrode his veto by Congress. Only half of the money was to be used for it
