Summary of Case
The events do not seem to have been planned in any sort of way or fashion but seem to be happening at the desire of the criminal during short periods of time and in high volume (latimes.com, 1989). Ramirez’s killings occurred in such a short period of time and with enough distance between them to prevent the authorities to capture him but still to relate him to the cases and to identify him to prevent general population of him. Most of the victims’ households property was stolen by Ramirez during and/or after the attacks. These robberies included items of great value that could not be tracked such as jewelry or clothes (latimes.com, 1989). The crimes that were perpetuated by the criminal seemed to have happened to the elderly and all of them were burglarized in the events after or during the murders. This evidence came from his sloppy way to commit his crimes as well as extensive descriptions from witnesses that described him to the authorities. He left the marks of his shoes in all of the crime scenes and were usually the same Avia shoes in all of the cases until his last of couple of murders (latimes.com, 1989). There were plenty of witnesses to his actions that were perfectly capable of identifying him. A proper image of him was done and most of the witnesses and survivors to his attacks identified him (latimes.com, 1989). He was quite easy to identify as he lacked personal hygiene and didn’t bathe or changed his haircut nor shoes. It is worth noting that those who identified him and angrily turned him into the police identified him because of that specific description they got from the police and other authorities as well as he never changed his appearance in any way (Watkiss,
