Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson: The Lighting Thief pulls readers into a world of Greek mythology. Readers follow a 12-year-old boy named Percy, who lives in New York with his mom and stepdad Gabe. Throughout the story, Percy is trying to find out who he truly is; we follow Percy as he grows and learns about the truth of his father’s past. I believe the theme of The Lightning Thief is to value your friendships and embrace who you truly are. As Percy travels on his quest, his friends Annabeth and Grover help him adapt to this new world and help him realize that he is not just a dyslexic troublemaker. When Percy first wakes up, he is in the medical room with Grover and Annabeth beside him.
