2. Characters:

• James Payton – A detective and future brother in law of Ben. In the movie, there was two types of relationship created with Ben, a partner at work and family member.
• Ben Barber – A rookie cop that partnered with his future brother in law. In the movie, he showed no difference in communicating with his supervisor and brother in law by just be himself.
3. Ben aspires to become a detective like his future brother in law James. He was assigned to partner with James in an investigation. The movie showed the way that James communicate and handle situations as a leader to Ben at work and as a family member outside of work.

In the other hand, Ben is his future brother in law and he want it to help him. Therefore, he always showed very emotion when talking to him.

7. Certainty
• People who think they’re always right and not willing to listen to another point of view.
• For like half of the movie, Ben was really into his own concept of how is like being a cop and not listen to what James told him. He always thing that he got this and it won’t screw up.
8. Conflict
• Conflict is a disagreement through at least two person to be involved
• This whole movie was full of conflict, because Ben never listen to anyone and James never trusted what Ben was doing and so many argument in between them.
9. Controlling communication
• A person who want and expect the outcome in the way like what they had in mind.
• When James communicating to Ben, it always seem to be very controlling and expect him to do it his way.
10. Disconfirming response
• A type of response that can negatively affect a person’s sense of self-worth and dismisses the value of a person
• Whenever Ben is talking, James had showed that he is not interesting of what’s Ben had find out in the investigation, because he never admitted to what Ben can be capable
