Theme is a life-lesson, or a moral. In the short story “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi,”Rudyard Kipling was aiming to have the theme peace is worth fighting or dying for. Both protagonist, Rikki , and antagonist, Nagania, fight for peace, putting their lives at risk. An alternative option for this short story could be too much ambition leads to negative results. Though I can prove that is an incorrect idea. In the family or friendship of Rikki , Darzee's wife, and Teddy's father worked well-organized to defeat the antagonist. All three of them wanted their families safe. The protagonist didn't necessarily want to fight the antagonist, in the climax, until there was a threat to his family In the rising action of the story the protagonist fights Krait concerting he was going to hurt teddy. Teddy's father “helped” by making sure he was dead altho was quite certain that he was. Darzee's wife helped the mongoose by warning him that Nagaina was going to strike him from behind to kill him, in the rising action of the story. Nagaina was bossy, only cared about herself, and her eggs soon to hatch. She was an overprotective mother who wanted to live in peace in the garden without mongooses or humans to possibly hold a threat to her or her children. He also wanted for his children to grow up peacefully. In the rising action Nagainia sends into the house to do her dirty work and she had basically killed her husband. In the end of the rising action she has the family held captive and was going to strike soon. “If you move I strike.
