In 1991, Dr Riordan founded the Riordan Plastics, Inc to process polymers into plastic substrates. Since then, it has become competitive in producing plastic products to a point of taking a new identity. Currently, it is known as the Riordan Manufacturing and has its plants located in China, Michigan, and Georgia. The main customers of the company include: aircraft manufacturers, automotive parts manufacturers, bottles and beverage makers, and appliance manufacturers. However, the company requires a strategic plan to have a clear direction and purpose.
Creating a strategic plan makes it easier for people in the Riordan Manufacturing, to know what it produces, sells, its customers, and how it competes. The strategic plan will have a number of stages. The first one is contemplating the vision of Riordan Manufacturing. This stage identifies what the organization hopes to accomplish. The mission statement will guide the goals and measure the achievement of Riordan Manufacturing. It will focus on improving the abilities and attitudes that exceed industry standards. This will lead to providing solutions for challenges experienced by customers. The mission statement will also maintain quality customer service to improve customer relationships. In addition, it will ensure a team oriented work environment that keeps employees informed and supported.
Strategy implementation will involve putting strategies into action to achieve goals. For instance, to improve customer relationships the team management needs to be ahead in terms of technology. It needs to combine systems for all divisions of the company to ensure that customer challenges are solved.
