Though e-cigarettes may present less health concerns than traditional cigarets by consuming the nicotine through vaping rather than smoke and burning they are still very harmful for the younger generation. Teens are more encouraged to try vaping using a tool made to help smokers stop but is now addicting a whole new generation. Electronic cigarettes over traditional cigarettes can be just as harmful.

There is a new kind of cigarette that is trending around the world, and that is the electronic cigarette (e-cigarette). Although this invention contains no tobacco, the Food and Drug Administration hasn’t determined e-cigarettes safe for human consumption. You might be thinking to yourself, “What are e-cigarettes?”
The e-cigarette was first invented in 2003 in Beijing, China by a man named Hon Lik, he is a 52 year old pharmacist, inventor and smoker. He got the idea of the electronic cigarette after his father whom was a heavy smoker, past-away from lung cancer .An e-cigarette is an electronic smoking device that is a battery- powered vaporizer which has a similar feel to tobacco smoking. This type of cigarette does not contain tobacco but has nicotine which is addictive from tobacco plants. The electronic cigarette does not produce smoke like a normal cigarette but produce vapour.

The assessment asked about things such as blood pressure and cholesterol, and I do not know these measures right of the top of my head. While looking at the results, it stated that I am at risk of dying within the next 10 years. When comparing my risk percentages to the average 27 year old male, I did very well and was average compared to the others. Nicotine causes a person’s heart rate to increase since adrenaline is released. Also, it makes people stay alert, attentive, and reduces appetite. The reason why people may not want to quit smoking is because they might gain weight since the absence of nicotine will cause a decrease in the rate at which their body changes food to energy. Addiction will surely occur through the regular use of nicotine; nicotine can be just as addictive as heroin. People who stop smoking will feel nervous, drowsy, lack of energy, headaches, lightheadedness, insomnia, cramps, tremors, heart palpitations, sweating, and dizziness.

Not only that, the effects of temporary exposure to smoke are also well documented and include headaches, breathing problems, and even nausea.
There is about 70 chemicals in cigarette smoke that can cause asthma, infant death syndrome, and ear infections. Infants are more prone to be second hand smokers if their parents are smokers. I myself is a second smoker, my parents have smoked ever since I could remember. Smoking should be banned in all of America. When I was smaller I would frequently get ear infections.

As smokefree.gov stated, the smoke “contains over 7,000 harmful chemicals, at least 250 of which are known to damage… [ones] health.” Also, the secondhand smoke “can… stay in the air for several hours after somebody smokes.” Therefore, it is harmful to secondhand smoke. B. Reason to listen: So, let’s look at why smoking should be banned in public places.
Nicotine is the addictive ingrediant that makes people addicted to the thought of continue smoking but there is also 40 other chemicals that are known for causing dangerous health issues. If you were to look up cigarette ingrediants you can see that there are many of chemicals that are very toxic for the body that people digest as they light one. They are slowly killing themselves inside out. Cancer, lung diease, and diabetes are some of the health issues that lead to death, amputees, etc. over time.
