These are coal counties and because of the recent political changes, coal counties have been povertized. The article mainly focuses on Clay County. There are many statistics about the downfall of the economy and the downfall of coal.
The Hatfields and McCoys were two families that are historically known for their feuds. The two families were very interesting as members of the family even married the other family and switched what side they were on in the feud. An event that happened in 1865 sparked the start of the feuds. This event was the murder of a McCoy by a group that many Hatfields were in. Then in 1878 the feud really began to pick up when a McCoy accused a Hatfield of stealing a hog from him.

There are many sports team names and mascots whose names reference Native Americans; this has become a public controversy due to the sports team names being interpreted as a racially offensive pursue. Most people do not take into consideration that these teams have an important meaning behind them, and how they contribute to the insightful history of Native Americans themselves. It would be a catastrophe having to lose all the history. Many claims toward this idea of "racism" are due to NFL and college team names such as the Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Florida State Seminoles are just a few.

Although winning would secure his job as coach, his main goal racial equality between the players were defiantly his vision for the team. By achieve this goal the players learnt to respect each other which created greater results for the team. Coach Boone’s speech engaged them to act on what he said. Forcing them to ride, room and eat together pushed boundaries for the players but all succeed in fulfilling his goal.
A friendship that is built on the foundation of jealousy, envy and competition is a toxic, corrupted relationship. Some people find motivation behind jealousy. It can be healthy and suitable to a certain extent; however, if one trespasses its borders the outcome will be chaotic. The same idea applies to competitiveness. It is awfully dangerous for people to live their lives constantly consumed by rotten emotions, because they only end up hurting and poisoning their relationships with others, and also harming themselves.
The United States of America is a land of freedom, a land of equality, and opportunity. We value independence and should look to exercise this in every form, as a nation. We must stay united and show respect to one another. This means we should not disregard ones ' ethnicity and culture, and use names in which are offensive towards their culture, in order to promote any sort of activity. This is aimed mainly at sports teams that carry racially inappropriate names.
“It’s just a time to get people thinking about putting an end to outward hatred and using sports as a tool to focus on racism,” Marshall McKay, chairman of the Yocha Dehe Wintun tribal council, told the Washington Post. There have been many more teams in the history of sports that have used team names that were offensive to native Americans. Most of those teams however keep their names because they don’t want to change the name Racism in sports is because of the racist term in the team names all around the United States. People have problems with this and some people don’t mind it.
Boaz Yakin, the director of “Remember the Titans”, tell us the story of an American football team of a recently integrated high school. The team transitions from hating each other to becoming a brotherhood. A turning point in this transition is the run to Gettysburg, where coach Boone leads the boys on an early morning run before delivering a powerful speech. After this scene the boys start to respect each other, respect the coach and overcome adversity. Using visual and verbal techniques, Yakin teaches us to respect everyone no matter what race, and to be resilient in the face of adversity.
