Another thing that caused the colonists to rebel was the Navigation act of 1660. This act prohibited the colonists to trade with anyone other than England. The Boston Massacre was another major problem colonists had with Great Britain. During the Boston Massacre british soldiers shot into a crowd of colonists. The indians decided to keep fighting the british. This war was fought over the british expanding their colonies into land that belonged to the native americans. The british were in no condition to fight with the native americans. The british were low on supplies and their soldiers were in debt. They had to have an agreement to leave and get the colonists off the property of the native americans . The colonists did not to leave the plentiful land. Parliament taxed the colonists for revenue in the sugar act. This was a reason why the slogan taxation without representation was made. The colonist believed that they had freedom in america. In 1770 the british parliament repeal the act on everything other than tea. Some colonists went against the parliament’s power and believed they had no right taxing them.
