Research Topic: Robert Frost Robert Frost was born on March 26, 1874, in San Francisco, California. He spent the first 11 years of his life there, until his father died of tuberculosis. After his dad died, Robert moved with his mom and sister, to Lawrence, Massachusetts. They moved in with his grandparents, and he went to Lawrence High School, where he met his future wife, Elinor White. After high school, he attended Dartmouth College for several months, returning home to work in a bunch of jobs that he didn’t enjoy having. Because Frost's poems are based on everyday events, many of his works are very much like his own personal journal that he gets to express the feelings he has throughout words. Two of his most famous poems, "Mending Wall" and "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening," are based on specific events in his life, based on observations made by other people. In a lot of situations, Robert Frost was able to draw inspiration from his own life for his poems and then incorporate a more mystical meaning to the different themes to give each event a deeper meaning. In addition to using life events as inspiration, Robert Frost also used many points of views in his emotional side for his poetry, such as his lifelong depression, loneliness, and sadness at the deaths of so many of his family members. Because Robert has been proven to express so much of himself in each of his poems, they have a personal touch that makes them particularly appealing to the reader. Some can say that, in a way, they get to know a bit more about his life based on his words. Others can say that it’s how he writes all his poetry with a great meaning behind it. Robert greatly expands the proud idea of a person’s thoughts. He can even be discussing the loss and tragedy that hard work can sometimes cause. A good example of how he expresses hard work throughout his poetry is for the farmers in "Mowing" and "After Apple-Picking," because it shows how hard work is necessary for survival. It also creates a one of a kind satisfaction that cannot be felt just from a person’s imagination. Hard work is real and connected to a person’s success in the world. Robert Frost has many inspirations in his poems, some are more deeper than others. Not all people will have the same interpretation of his poems, but his work has affected American Literature by just simply making his work accepted by everyone in their
