The Poet’s personal life was a highlight in his capture to poetic art. Robert Frost lived most of his childhood in the town of Lawrence, Massachusetts. Following his father’s death, he lived with his Mom and sister. As a student at his local high school, he had a interest for writing poems. At his senior year, Frost successfully graduated from Lawrence High school as valedictorian and class poet with his newfound love Elinor Miriam White who was a major influence to his poetry. His first poem “My Butterfly: an Elegy” got sold to a New York magazine called The Independent in the year 1894. Due to family problems, it was difficult for Frost to take his family first in line, so he stuck with teaching since his mind was connected to poetry. In 1912, Frost and his family settled in London which was a fortuitous time for the Georgian Movement. According to Linda Hart, the Georgian movement was a reaction against poetic establishment like young poets in favour of realism and plain language, and against the grand rhetoric of the Victorians. Although Frost took no part or gain, he would have had a great benefit from this historic event in regards to his poetry. After a poetry bookshop opened in September 1912, Frost would have the opportunity to sell out more of his works. His first collection “A Boy’s Will” was published on April 1913. “The collection are lyrics in which the poet-speaker is reacting to the world around him in a variety of moods….”(Hart) like despair to hope, or withdrawal to acceptance.
