Da Vinci had very little formal education, however, his artistic talents were evident from an early age. At the age of 14, da Vinci began a lengthy apprenticeship with the artist Andrea del Verrocchio in Florence, from whom he learned a variety of different artistic skills. Leonardo da Vinci is said to have excelled as not only a painter but also an architect and inventor. Valuing education, da Vinci is said to have always been a student to the sciences, saying himself that "learning never exhausts the mind". Leonardo da Vinci was conceived on April 15,1452 in the town of Anchiano, near the town of Vinci. His illegitimately father was Ser Piero, a legal official an attorney and Leonardo's mother was Caterina, a laborer young lady (Costantino 9). Conceived amid a period when it was conceivable to accept that man can do all things, and Leonardo demonstrated the Renaissance right. Around 1466 he possessed himself to the main Florentine painter and artist, Andrea del Verrocchio, as an issue kid.
March 6, 1475 a renaissance artist was born by the name of Michelangelo Buonarotti. He was the second out of five male siblings by his father and mother. Michelangelo’s mother at the time of his birth was very sickly. Six years after Michelangelo is born his mother passes, leaving his father to oversee him.

We don't really know who commissioned the portrait, the person actually in the portrait, how long Leonardo kept it, how long Leonardo actually spent on the art and at what point did it get to the royal collection of France. The portrait could have been made for a couple of events : When Andrea was born ( the December of 1502) or when Francesco del Giocondo bought a house with his wife in 1503.
