Robin Williams And LBD “You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.” (“Robin Williams”). Robin Williams was an actor and a comedian. Williams suffered from Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Lewy Body Dementia (LBD). Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is a disorder in which it is hard to focus and stay on task (Sheen 15). ADHD patients brains are faster than most (Sheen 14). There are three types of ADHD, Inattentive, hyperactive/Impulsive and Combination (Sheen 22). Inattentive symptoms are, short term memory loss, hyperfocus, restlessness, impulsivity, impatient, talk excessively, fidget, trouble sharing, and easily distracted. Lewy Body Dementia occurs when clumps up protein that form in the brain (“what is Lewy”). It can cause many symptoms like Parkinson's Disease (“LBDA Clanfies”), but not everyone has the same symptoms (Tanna). Physical symptoms include slow walking, balance issues, stiff muscle, shaky hands, stooped posture, shuffling, and difficulty moving (“what is Lewy”). Mental symptoms are Depression, anxiety, hallucinations, and memory loss (“what is Lewy”). It affects 35.6 million people in the world and is expected to double every twenty years, to 65.7 in 2030 . Williams was found in his home located in Tiburon, California. It had shocked people all around the world when news spread of his death. Williams was born July 21, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a father of three and have three wives. He had developed a drug and alcohol problem during the popular Mork and Mindy sitcom in 1978. Williams was a popular actor, starring in films such as Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, Hook, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, Good Will Hunting, One Hour Photo, Night at the Museum, and many more.
