Robin Williams was born on July 21, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, to former model Laura and Ford Motor executive Robert. Robin Williams was an American actor and comedian. During His childhood he was very lonely as he was picked on because he was overweight and shy. He tried and tried to lose weight and fit in so he wouldn’t be picked on anymore. One day he joined his school wrestling and track team to lose weight where he then realised he could make the other children laugh as a way of gaining respect from them. When we was only sixteen, Robin's father retired early and they moved to California where he finished his education at Redwood High School. In 1980, Hollywood finally came knocking and Williams took the title role in Robert Altman's 'Popeye'. His film debut in Popeye wasn't a good one. He found fame difficult to handle, he coped while hiding through drinking, drugs, and womanizing. In 1978, he married his first wife Valerie Valardi. During the same year he made a guest appearance on TV‘s “Happy Days” as Mork, an alien from the planet Ork, which lead to a spin off series of his own, “Mork and Mindy,” and he was nominated for a prime-time Emmy for lead actor in a comedy series runs and the show would run until 1982.
