The 1950’s was a time of invention, hard fought war by men and women of our country and some of the most medical step forwards that we have ever had in our history. Not only was it a time for invention and war but also a time were rock and roll hit the ground running. Most people protested that rock and roll was the music of the devil poisoning the minds of our children. With even these people trying to bring that genera down the great legends prospered. Every kid remembers growing up and hearing the words “thank you, thank you very much” at least once in their life, it was words of the great king Elvis Presley. Some of the major number one hits in the 1950’s were Witch Doctor, The Purple People Eater and Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer just to name a few. The Witch Doctor came out in April 1958 written by David Seville who was the creator of Alvin and the Chipmunks. He had to find a way with his own equipment to make his voice sound like high pitched chipmunk and at the point there were no chipmunk yet. What his did was recored his own voice into a tape recorder that was slowed at high speed and when he got done he would play it back at normal speed and that is what gives you the high pitch chipmunk sound back in those days. Elvis Presley was born on January 8 1935, that was the day that the world had no idea who was about to change the whole world of Rock and Roll termiddisly. Elvis came from a very normal family, the average american family and raised up having strong beliefs in God. He received his first guitar on his 11th birthday from his mother Gladys. He then went on to writing his own songs that then won a talent show in High School in Memphis. After High School he work as hard as you could traveling and pursuing many job related to his music to get his name out there into the world. He was just a kid with a dream, amazing voice and a face for tv. He didn't want to give up even when people told him that he couldn’t, if you want something bad enough nothing can get in our way and that's what he lived by.
