In the custom motorcycle magazine American Iron Motorcycle Bagger, Performance Machine.com says that the bold design with “Hot Rod styling” (23) used on the products bring a custom classic look, appreciated by the motorcycle enthusiast who is into the “rockabilly” scene. “Rockabilly” is a type of music that combines elements of old-school rock and country, or belonging to the genre of early blues infused rock of the 50s. Today, its fans are by and large part of the subculture that idealizes the 50s. While anyone who rides a motorcycle could like the parts used in this advertisement, the way that the ad is set up points towards a single group of riders. With the use of a pinup model dressed in classic 50s style, a motorcycle with a classic paint job, and a simple background it becomes evident that these images are being used to entice the attention of the motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys a classic rockabilly ride. …show more content…

The pinup model brings a sensual ambiance to the advertisement to help lure the attention of men and women who admire the rockabilly scene. The use of dark red hair, red lipstick, halter top, hip hugger jeans, and high heels suggest that the model is open to a romantic relationship, and if these drive covers are installed on the viewer’s motorcycle they too could catch a women like this.

Emphasized by the pinup model the classic look is continued with the motorcycle at the bottom of the image. The use of low grip handle bars, chrome accessories, and a smooth paint job with dark colors and fine lines all add to the custom classic look.
