Every method of argument attempts to convince another party that one viewpoint are superior, or offers a better alternative than what has already been presented. The difference lies in the purpose of the argument, whom it is intended for, as well as the context or occasion in which the argument takes place. Where and how each method can be employed depends on situations across the spectrum (either for school or work, in the mass media or with friends, etc), in order to present effective and verifiable assertions.

Rogerian Argument can be used when “winning” is not the intention of the whole argument, i.e when finding a middle-ground is the next best alternative. I can apply this method when a given issue is too complex for only one solution
