I first heard of RICO when watching the television series Sons of Anarchy (SOA). It appears in SOA because the ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms unit) is trying to put the motorcycle club away for weapons trafficking – which is a serious crime in the US, especially if it 's international. Soo what is R.I.C.O.? RICO stands for Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations. It is a law that was passed in the 1970s that was designed to fight organized crime in the United States.

Unlike the New York organized crime scene which consists of the Five Families, the Chicago mob consists of only one family known as the Outfit. The outfit dates to the times of Al Capone and has traditionally stayed away from drug trafficking crimes and focused on loan-sharking and online gambling (The Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2011). The Chicago La Costa Notra: History The Outfit can be traced to the early 1900’s with an increase of Italian immigrants in Chicago.
Authorities are still confused how AB leaders can organize and direct criminal enterprises from solitary confinement. Members from the AB can be easily identified by their tattoos which could be two lightning bolts symbolizing Hitler’s SS, Shamrock with the numbers 666 inside, the initials A.B., and swastikas. This gang is still around today and I hardly believe it’ll ever

When people make choices that could drastically change their life, the decision they make is based on the influence of others. In the novel, The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton a gang called the Greasers is stereotyped for being the "mean types" that slack off at school. Then there are the Socials who are know as the rich kids with cool cars that happen to like "jumping" Greasers. As these two gangs are rivaling, they both go through some dramatic events that change their perspectives on life. In the novel The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton the character Darrel Curtis is unquestionably influenced by his gang as it prevents him from being successful, leading him to becoming the father of the gang, and overall being someone to look up to.

(Gangs) A deviant subculture is defined as a subculture, which has values and norms that differ substantially from the majority of people in society. When a neighborhood or community favors illegal activities, a criminal subculture is likely to develop such as gangs. Walter Miller states that deviant subcultures don’t arise from the inability of a community to achieve success, but because of a lower-class subculture whose values and norms are different from the rest of society. Subcultures can be a good thing, because they can provide a sense of belonging, interaction with people who have similar interests, and gives members the freedom to express individuality.

Introduction Juvenile delinquency due to gang relation has increased drastically. Many people fail to realize that gangs have a considerable influence on the decisions juveniles are making. Adolescents are easily influenced by the members of the gangs and manipulated to commit certain crimes. As juveniles they are not mentally and emotionally mature to make such critical decisions, which in turn allow gang members to manipulate and control the youth they recruit. Juveniles become a part of gangs for several reasons, including, gaining protection, governmental, and social issues.
