Romeo and Juliet Essay One of the reason’s why I like Romeo and Juliet is that there is a lot of fighting with a mix between romance. Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is a play about the son and daughter of two feuding families falling in love. Although the Romeo and Juliet play a huge part in the story, the parents play almost just as big of a part. They are important because Juliet's parents tell Juliet who she has to marry, the families hate each other, and Juliet's mom doesn't have a strong relationship with her daughter. The first reason the parents play a big part in Romeo and Juliet is when Lord Capulet says, “your fine joints ‘gainst Thursday next To go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church, or I will drag thee on hurdle thither. Another reason why the parents play an important role is because they fight with each other which makes things more complicated and if the feud didn’t happen in the first place none of this would of happened. Towards the beginning of the play, the Montagues and Capulets get in a fight which has a big part in the story because the Prince says, “ if ever disturb our streets again, your lives shall pay the forfeit.”(I,i,92-94) This has a big part in the story because if the Prince didn’t say this then when Romeo killed Tybalt then he wouldn’t of gotten banished, which would of saved many lives and the whole conflict would of been avoided. This quote proves my claim because if the parents would take control of their men then nobody would of gotten killed or banished and Romeo and Juliet would of been able to get married. That is another reason why the parents play such a big role, but there is at least one more reason why the parents are important in the story. The last reason why the parents play an important part in Romeo and Juliet is that the Lady Capulet doesn’t have a strong feeling of love towards
