This can improve friendships substantially and make the companionship a lot more involved. Why technology is viewed as beneficial in terms of communication, Tarshis believes that technology negatively affects our society in other ways. In the article it states, “Other experts, however, warn that too much online communication can get in the way of forming deep friendships. The biggest problem is the amount of time kids are spending alone with their devices.” (Tarshis 9) This suggests that instead of spending quality time with their friends in person teens chose to spend time alone with their cell phones. Teens need to spend more time in- person with REAL people, not sitting on their phone staring at a screen for hours on end.
