The dictionary defines tragedy as; an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress. Romeo and Juliet for sure is a tragedy with many deaths and a not so happy ending. There could be a finger pointed for the chain of events that occurs. Abraham should be pardoned for his part in the story where Prince and Friar John should be punished. There are people that could have done something differently in this play to prevent the many deaths and tragedies from happening.

In the novel, Of Mice & Men by John Steinbeck, the author demonstrates how friendship is profitless, impracticable, and full of deception. Friends don’t always have your back when you think they do. Nothing really does hurt more than being betrayed by the one person you trusted the most. Friends sometimes aren’t worth the heartbreak you go through in the end.

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” says Abraham Lincoln. I personally agree with this idea, for many reasons which include the following. The first reason I agree with this idea, because it shows in Of Mice and Men, when Curley's wife knows she has power so, she presents her real character by using racism on Crooks, calling Candy old, and calling Lenny stupid. Without power she would be absent, fearful, and desperate, which would tuck away her real character. The second reason I agree with this belief, is that I have even experienced this with my siblings.

Of Mice and Men, the American Dream, was that of freedom and independence for George and Lennie. The American Dream will not work for the two of them. George has a lack of responsibility for the actions that Lennie does. George isn 't strict on Lennie like he should, which allows Lennie to do anything he wants and get away with it. Lennie was not the smartest of the two, but that doesn 't give him the authority to do bad things and not have any repercussions afterwards.
