5) Throughout the Iliad book XVI they would tell story about things that was going on through stories of things that animals do naturally in nature. An example in the book would be on page 281 in the lines 793 through 795, “Like a pair of lions fighting over a slain deer…”The fighting lions would be example of Patroclus and Hector. Also the slain deer they are fighting over would be Cebriones. They use a number of these examples instead of talking about what is actually going on in the story. They use the natural things that animals do to describe the fighting and the action that goings on in the story. They describe them as trees, bull, lion, deer, and a boar.
