The Hunger Games, being more modern, is exceptionally understanding of women than in the Iliad. The Iliad shows that women can be passed around as prizes, they can be manipulated and held captive. The roles of women have improved over the years, as shown in the Hunger Games. In the Hunger Games, women and men are treated equally since they both can fight for their district, rule their people, and take care of children while doing the hard work of staying alive. Going back to The Iliad, women only had the role of being there for their husbands by making food and babies. Also,women cooked, cleaned and, had sex for a living therefore their men would be elated.
