Josie Cormier from the novel Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult was guilty of killing her boyfriend, Matt Royston. She confessed to it when she went to court for Peter’s trial. She hadn’t told anyone about what she did for five months. Only one other person knew, because he watched her kill Matt and told her he wouldn’t tell anyone: Peter. Matt had been an abusive boyfriend, both mentally and physically.
Jane Gallagher is a very important character throughout the book. Whenever Holden is thinking of her or not thinking of anything, she always finds a place in Holden's mind. “All of a sudden, on my way out to the lobby, I got old Jane Gallagher on the brain again. ”(85) Holden has key memories with Jane, and notices whenever they play checkers she, “kept all her kings in the back row.
In The House of the Scorpion, Matt, the main character, has very few friends. Most people in the book hate Matt just because he is a clone, but as we learn towards the end of the book there is no difference between a clone and a human. Matt is very close with the friends he does have, those friends are Tam Lin, Celia, and María. Those friends have helped Matt with many different things and loved him through all of them. Of all the characters in The House of the Scorpion, María is the best friend to Matt because she makes him truly happy, which is something nobody else in the book does.
During Ariana’s time at Brenda T., she is required to have daily meetings with a psychologist at her correctional facility. Ariana is assigned to Dr.Meloni. In the book, it is displayed that Dr. Meloni has a deep hatred for Ariana. In fact, after Ariana’s staged suicide attempt, he was not impressed. He hated her so much that he told her, “If you want it all over so badly, then I just have one thing to say to you.

He goes in and sits in his seat saying he 's ready for his lesson and that he forgot his book, she starts to cry and runs out of the room. In the end Charlie decides that he 's going to run away from New York and he leaves a note for everyone he ever loved or
MLK said, “Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” That is a courageous quote because it was a great depression and he was black. It relates to how they were treated because whites and blacks hated each other but they couldn’t drive each other out. The novel “Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry” is about a family going through rough times like some on trying to take their land but the logans didn’t let that happen.

Pages 84-86: I chose the scene when Jeanette was sexually assaulted by Billy Deel. Jeanette received a turquoise ring from Billy as a gift, she took the present to be something casual and though nothing more of it than a gift. Jeanette is also aware that Billy may have had the intentions of the ring to be a gift for her to become his girlfriend, and wants nothing to do with a relationship. “But don’t think this means we’re boyfriend and girlfriend, I said. And don’t think this means you can kiss me” (84).
Some people try to run away from their thoughts or others truly are trying to escape the fear and abuse of another person. Domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone, yet the problem is often overlooked, excused, or denied. Katie has been running away from her abusive, alcoholic husband.
Sadie Kane: Princess I think Sadie's name doesn't quite fit her, since she is independent, sarcastic, strong-minded, stubborn, rebellious, and often surprises people with her comebacks and insults. As shown in the book, Sadie isn't afraid to break the rules and is constantly teasing her brother about everything. Such as, Carter's love life, his clothes and his hair. She often chews gum, dyes bright and bold streaks in her blond hair.
In “Rising Storm” Erin Hunter writes about a young, white cat who goes through many changes and learns a couple of lessons. The story takes place in a forest divided by four clans: Thunderclan, Shadowclan, Riverclan, and Windclan. The book is based on the life of Thunderclan. The main character of the story is a fiery, orange cat named Fireheart. His apprentice, Cloudpaw, was a young kit who was given to the clan from his sister.
When Courtney and Hannah were in Hannah's room they started to hear the click clicks of the camera. Courtney was rubbing Hannah's back and saying inappropriate things to get the camera to click. Courtney then said, “how many toys you have been here 1...2...3.” Hannah then ran and open the blinds to see Tyler as scared as could be, running away. The next day Courtney told the whole school about Hannah's sex toys, but then faked to be Hannah’s friend.
