Latin was learned by Europeans for communication with peers in other countries. The impact that the roman language and writing has on today's society is huge, think about it. Most of us would be speaking Latin if others didn't base other languages off of Latin. The world wouldn't have developed in any like it has if we all spoke one language. Even to this day do we still use most Latin proverbs they are everywhere like on the back of money, some saying and words etc. Legacy means "the mark that you leave that you're remembered for". There are 4 roman legacies that had made a huge impact on today's society. Those legacies are, a Roman Art, Roman Architecture and engineering, Roman Laws and Philosophy, and Roman language and writing. These legacies have all made an impact on today's society because, they all changed the way that we live. This wouldn't have happened if the roman hadn't done any of these things, then we would be living a very different lifestyle.
