Well, I'm going to analyze if it is the same for the same storylines in modern vs. classical, with Romeo and Juliet's 1968 version and 1996 version. Romeo and Juliet is a story written by William Shakespeare.
The play of Romeo & Juliet and the musical of West Side Story are very similar in comparison. West Side Story was based on Romeo and Juliet. The similar comparisons included the main characters meeting each other for the first time and a secretive relationship. In contrast, the feuding between each side in both plays are different.
