Friar Lawrence had a strong two examples that affected the relationship between the lovers. For example, Friar Lawrence gave Juliet a potion that will fake her death but really she’s still alive she’s just got “No warmth, no breath” and that “shall testify thou livest”. (4.1.2464) When Friar Lawrence suggested that she should take this potion, in his little speech he mentions that she be close to dead to fool everyone. That even means Romeo in the most unfortunate times. When Friar Lawrence was speaking with Juliet he also planned to send letters to dear Romeo who had been staying in Mantua.
If the two families had not been fighting then Romeo and Juliet would not have had to keep their love a secret and they would not have had to fake juliets death which lead to both of them actully
If their families had never fought, the Friar wouldn’t have had to make the sleeping potion for Juliet, and Romeo wouldn’t have mistaken her slumber for her death. Romeo and Juliet also wouldn’t have had to sneak around to see each other. They would have been able to see each other whenever they wanted if there wasn’t so much hate between the two families. “And that the lean abhorred monster keeps Thee here in the dark to be his paramour? For fear of that, I still will stay with thee, And never from this palace of dim night Depart again.
However, if Romeo actually felt much for Juliet, he would have changed his family name to be with her with no questions asked. Considering if this were to happen, the two’s deaths would not have been
As one single poem can intrigue the everyday college student, one can imagine the obsessive nature that one poem can have on the mind. The poem, circulating, round and round in the mind, leaving one to ponder the day away all because one poem, as one can be left questioning, such as in "Prayer" by Galway Kinnell. However, even if someone were to be obsessed with one poem, there are ones who are intrigued by not just one, but two, maybe dozens of poems, all by the same author that had them intrigued since the first poem looming in their head. Nevertheless, as one may ponder across an entire work of a single author, this pondering may lead to one who is passionate about the entire work of an author to publish articles about someone and their work respectively. In the article, "Galway Kinnell: Transfigured Dread," by Edward Hirsch, the pondering over the entire works of Galway Kinnel are discussed in great detail.
If Romeo had asked Juliets parents for their approval of marriage. There could have been a completely different outcome. Since they got married in secret, Capulet forces Juliet to marry Paris, leading to Juliet faking her death. If simply she had told them she is married, he couldn't have forced her to marry Paris because their catholic, and Catholics don't believe in divorce. Also, at the end of the story, in Act 5 Scene 3, the parents build gold statues of each other's child in honor of their love for each other.
William Shakespeare once said, “Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs.” Young love in the 18th century is still the same as it is now. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a relevant work for a person in modern times due to its mimicry of attitudes, impulsive actions and pride of young love today. Juliet 's attitude is those of modern times. She talks herself out of a tough situation by diversion.
In the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, there are two families. The families are the Montague’s and the Capulet’s. These two families did not like each other and often fought each other in the streets of Verona. Act One starts with a fight amongst the two families. After the fight the Prince orders that if there is anymore fighting then he would kill the ones responsible.
have you ever wondered what the outcome of Romeo and Juliet's lives would have been had their families not been enemies? in my opinion, they would have been a lot happier. everyone knows that the biggest reason that Romeo and Juliet could not be together was the fact that their families were in the midst of a feud that had started hundreds of years ago. Juliet was forced to marry a count named Paris, whom she did not love. to top all this off, even the prince agrees that Romeo and Juliet probably would not have died it not been for their parents.
When naive young Romeo and Juliet meet each other and fall in love despite their families feud they become star-crossed lovers. Both lovers do everything in their power to be together. Their doomed fate induces problems and tragic endings as well as their own. Their deaths resolve the feud and teach the Capulets and Montagues a lesson. Their parents ' trivial feud kill the thing they loved the most.
Emotions are what propel you forward to reach your goal, but what also stop you from breaking your limits. They are what weigh into our decisions and help lead us to the choices we forever live with. Not only can they determine what we do, but also when and how we do it. At times they are stronger than others, pulling us forward or throwing us back as if we have absolutely no control. Just like in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the entire lives of two teenagers led by the emotions that they couldn’t ignore.
Would situations turn out better if emotions were not a factor? How many decisions are made irrationally and without real thought? In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet the characters are constantly making decisions based on their emotions. Romeo and Juliet were thrown into tough situations with no easy outcomes. Not only were they from rival families, but they were also young teenagers.
The Maturities of Romeo and Juliet It is a controversial topic whether youth is capable of handling a mature love. Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare by 1595, epitomizes this common topic. The main characters of the play are two teenagers who fall in love at the first sight, however, the hatred between the families of the two leads to their death in the end. In the adaptation of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet in 1996, Romeo and Juliet are portrayed more mature than in that of Baz Luhrmann in 1968.
Throughout the history of Shakespearen literature, Shakespeare tends to develop the characters in to a way that complements the story. For an example, in Macbeth, he shows the digression of the main character by an internal conflict residing from a mental condition, if he did not explain every detail of his thought process then the story would be bland and not a literature masterpiece. Another key example is the story of Romeo and Juliet, even though it is a romantic piece, he still assigns different personality traits to each character. Which makes them a key asset to how the story concludes and the theme the reader is left to discover. One of the biggest colliding character interactions is Benvolio and Tybalt.
Analytical Essay: Romeo and Juliet We often blame fate for the problems we face in our lives but sometimes events take place because of our own actions. In the tragedy of William Shakespeare, Romeo, and Juliet, two lovers come across each other building conflict which then leads to the death of them both and others. Although they are referred to as “star-crossed lovers”, there are many events that take place that could have been avoided if they had chosen to do so. Conflict in the play has already started before Romeo and Juliet have even met each other.
