Romeo and Juliet is a story about a love that wasn’t meant to be, I think that the troupe right person wrong time explains their situation very well. Their families are feuding and this stops them from being able to be with each other. Their age also causes them to act irrationally and do things that others would call unhinged. At the end of the play, the Prince says that “some shall be pardoned and some shall be punished”. Since he is a religious man, and the teens would come to him for confessions, he would be the person who knew Romeo and Juliet the best. This also means that he has earned their respect and they highly regard his words and wisdom. In the text it states “Holy Saint Francis, what a change is here! Is Rosaline, that thou didst love so dear, So soon forsaken? Young men’s love then lies Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes.” (II. III. 69-72) Here, Friar Lawrence is questioning the authenticity of Romeo’s love seeing as just hours before he had been madly in love with Rosaline. However, knowing this, he still marries Romeo and Juliet soon after. “Come, come with me, and we will make short work, For, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone Till Holy Church incorporate two in one.” (II. VI. 35-37) Even while knowing how fickle young love is, he marries them in secret without anybody else knowing. Not only is he the schemer behind the secret marriage but, he also is the one who plots out the plan to fake Juliet’s death later in the play. Laterits is also stated, “Take thou this vial, being then in bed, And this distilling liquor drink thou off; When presently through all thy veins shall run A cold and drowsy humor; for no pulse Shall keep his native progress, but surcease.” (IV. She had knowledge of Juliet’s feelings for Romeo and of their marriage. When Juliet is talking to the nurse about Romeo, this is what she says “O God, she comes!—O, honey nurse, what news? Hast thou met with him? Send thy man away.” (II. V. 18-19) The nurse helps Juliet sneak out and secretly marry even though she knew about the Capulets’ plans for Juliet to marry County Paris. The nurse is present when Lady Capulet and Juliet are talking about marriage. Lady Capulet says “Well, think of marriage now. Younger than you Here in Verona, ladies of esteem, Are made already mothers. By my count I was your mother much upon these years That you are now a maid. Thus, then, in brief: The valiant Paris seeks you for his love.” (I. III. 75-80) Then the nurse starts talking about how attractive Paris is, so she clearly understands what Juliet’s parents wish to do for her future. However, when Romeo talks with her and he explains his plans to marry Juliet, she goes along with it and acts as if the previous conversation did not happen. In the text, after talking with Romeo, the Nurse says “Good heart, and i’ faith I will tell her as much. Lord, Lord, she will be a joyful woman.” (II.
