Paris and Romeo are foil characters, meaning they are opposites. Paris and Romeo highlight each other’s qualities. This is a widely used method that helps the audience understand their characters better. First, I will dive into Romeo Montague’s character, who is indecisive and rash. Romeo shows his indecisive side when he asks Friar Lawrence to marry him and Juliette [+2]. Friar Lawrence says [+1] “Holy Saint Francis, what a change here!
